Because of the importance in diagnosing and treating Periodontal Disease, at IDH, we are using genetic testing to determine if some of our patients are less resistant to infection and inflammation. This guides us in the direction of treatment in which we follow a medical model for treating an infection. We can also fined out what bacteria are involved and their susceptibility to medication.
